About Us

Hi, I’m Allana Miller and I created The Narrative Nest after years of witnessing how financial barriers and lack of access to mentorship can stifle the voices of talented emerging screenwriters — especially those from underrepresented communities. As a screenwriter and filmmaker, I know firsthand how transformative it is to receive meaningful feedback and be surrounded by people who believe in your story. That’s why I launched this two-day retreat: to offer a space where writers in the Greater Vancouver area can unplug, connect, and dig deeper into their scripts with guidance from a professional story editor. The Narrative Nest is more than a writing weekend—it’s about building community, uplifting each other’s voices, and carving out space for stories that deserve to be told.
