September 5th & 6th, 2026 | Vancouver, BC

The Narrative Nest is a free, two-day screenwriting retreat for emerging screenwriters to develop their short film scripts with professional story editors.

This community initiative was created by filmmaker, Allana Miller with the purpose of breaking down financial barriers in the film industry while strengthening community and fostering connection.

All participants will experience a quiet sanctuary to write, receive one-on-one mentorship and delve into creative connection exercises while being nourished with breakfast/lunch/snacks.

Additionally — participants will receive festival passes to Vancouver Queer Film Festival!

If you’re ready to get your next short film script completed — this retreat is the place for you!

The Narrative Nest Summer 2026 Retreat is funded by DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society.
